The Election Committee of the Communist list for the People's Bloc of Modena with the meeting of May 5 announced that they are not successful in raising the number of signatures necessary for the presentation of the list, not directly run in municipal elections.
The budget of the activity with banquets and other activities is mainly positive. If being left behind, as well as organizational boundaries (this was the first experience for us all direct election), and a media blackout kept around the Communist List, did not allow us to achieve the objective of the signatures, we find that this campaign has been a great way to make new contacts, raise the slogan of the Government People's Bloc and carry out important initiatives such as the collection of materials intended for the people of Abruzzo. Following the serious incident of repression took place in Reggio Emilia (the police opened fire on the car of fellow Communist List of Reggio Emilia) we had to omit, in recent days, gathering signatures to conduct the termination of repression and support to fellow reggiani (to which we renew our solidarity).
thank all the comrades who have worked on the project of the common list in Modena, we stress that the election committee of the LC-BP does not dissolve and indeed will continue its activities. Since no election, the fact of not presenting is not directly output from the electoral campaign, in fact, give an indication of a vote (which is common to the province), indicating that the candidates in the elections and bring the positions closer to the best path we have undertaken. We also participate in the forthcoming referendum campaign with an effort in this area truly democratic and communist forces in the city.
As we have always said to us campaign is a means and not an end, is a means to create opposition, self-organization and popular control of government activity. In what way? Building a popular committee for monitoring and reporting of waste and anti-people measures implemented by "our" administrators.
We have said and we repeat it: whether or not we will be elected in elected assemblies, participating and breaking for advancing the people's interests (rights, the environment, support for the struggles), control and reporting institutions.
